Feed me

I ran into a friend at a pub tonight, and she asked how my writing was going.

I told her that it was going great, other than the fact that I make somewhere in the vicinity of .25 cents an hour. Mind you, that isn’t exactly the way to impress a woman in my home town. Sadly, at the moment, it isn’t much of a stretch either.

10K!

Wow….10,000 unsuspecting, undeserving readers have now been subjected to this blog.

I guess I should find something to write about, huh? :)

I am basically still in a holding pattern due to finances….I am finding some freelance work here and there though so I hope to be back on the road soon enough. Without a doubt, even if I sell my other kidney, I will be heading back to Southeast Asia when the rain stops…..

I did manage to write a funny account of my Egypt experience here for a writing contest. Check it out!

Girls gone wild?

I just finished applying for the tantalizing writing assignment posted here on Boots-n-all. They want someone to take an expenses paid trip down to Mexico to cover the Spring Break madness for 3 weeks with a video camera and twitchy blogging fingers.

Wow.

My platform for being chosen over the hordes of people that I am sure have spammed them with applications?

I am old enough, 31, to not wake up in a puddle of last night’s once-consumed tequila. Unlike many of the younger applicants, I do not cease functions and going into a slobbery trance at the sight of an uncovered breast. I made it a point to brag about my military and IBM experience, to let them know that even in the chaotic conditions of Spring Break ‘07, that I can perform and accomplish the mission (4 blog entries and 4 videos a day – yikes). With real money on the line, I am sure that they are looking for someone reliable and responsible (as long as they don’t find out about my 2 weeks on Ko Pha’ngan I’ll be alright. :) )

I have also decided to get more cerebral exercise by posting here more often. Even though I am not traveling at the moment and the adventures are slim, I can still keep it interesting. If you came looking for more than just rambling, use the category links to the right of this window to choose a country. I’m sure you won’t have to look long to find adventures, mishaps, and other interesting things.

Life is good!
