Say again?

My voice sent across the air and downloaded onto lots of people’s IPODs all over the world?

Now that is a seriously scary thought. Being a writer and someone that would rather eat a sandwich in a Chinese toilet than do public speaking, I much prefer to jockey words around on a screen in the hunchbacked sanctity of my own home. Not to mention the fact that my 6 weeks at home has probably caused the Kentucky to sneak back into my voice. Yuck.

However, opportunity punishes those who hesitate, so I eagerly accepted when Craig from www.indietravelpodcast.com approached me for a telephone interview today.

For about 15 minutes, we covered things like escaping from cubicle hell, taking the first step as a new traveler, and packing light. The interview will be aired around Feb 1st, and will be available on Podcast or on Itunes.

Craig and his wife Linda from Indie Travel have been away from home for over 2 years and have covered an astonishing number of countries. I can only hope that one day my passport sees as much ink and action as theirs have.

After the interview, I got the inside scoop on a contest they are going to be starting to go along with the newly launched website. Over $600 in loot is going to be given away, including a Joby GorillaPod which I have been wanting to add to my equipment for a long time. If you haven’t already, go check out their site – and don’t give me too much crap about the interview! :)
