Countries

travel-slow

The best way to go? Travel slowly and carry what you need on your back.

Remember, you travel to accumulate life experience and to meet new people — why rush?

It’s not a race to increment a country count!

These are the places that I’ve been fortunate enough to visit or live in over the years; quite a few are repeats with six months or more accumulated there. Unlike some ‘famous’ bloggers who claim 60+ countries, I don’t count a place unless I leave the airport and explore it properly.

I don’t have a problem with repeats because every time you visit a place it’s an entirely different experience based upon who you meet. I’ve¬†accumulated¬†more than 24 months over many trips in Thailand alone!

I’ve been to Alaska twice and Hawaii three times. I know they’re not countries, but they’re far enough away and special enough to merit their own entry into the list.

  1. When you were in Peru did you visit Machu Picchu ?

  2. Hey Shawn, absolutely. Made my own way there by hiking the railroad tracks through the Andes. Here’s how: http://www.startbackpacking.com/travel/travel-to-machu-picchu/
