Orion and The Force

bridge in Laos

A bridge in Vang Vieng, Laos

I’ve been home in the US for 6+ weeks now.

I can almost taste the stagnancy creeping in on me from all directions. Of course I am happy to be with my friends and family again, but after a period of time, the excitement has peaked and everyone returns back to business as usual. Plus, now that we are at the end of January, I can no longer say that I am “home for Christmas”. Maybe I can say that I am home for Chinese New Year? :)

Say again?

My voice sent across the air and downloaded onto lots of people’s IPODs all over the world?

Now that is a seriously scary thought. A Map for Saturday

After coming across the trailer for “A Map for Saturday” on Victoria’s blog and it nearly bringing tears to my eyes, I decided to pay up the $15 and buy the DVD.

I loved every minute of it…and whether you are an experienced traveler or someone aspiring to leave work and head off for the first time, it will get your heart beating. Some of the things that Brook Silva-Braga hits on made me want to laugh, cry, and shout at the screen “That’s so true!”. He did a fantastic job on the project and it was well worth the cash in my opinion.

He even covers minute things that only long term travelers can relate to, like returning home to “so…how was it?” questions and severe email addiction. Everything he said hit home hard.

I’m going to watch it one more time and write a proper review for it on StartBackpacking.com. Until then, take my word for it. its a fun $15! You can only buy it on Brook’s site www.amapforsaturday.com
